跟着我国加入世贸组织和北京将举办2008年奥运会，越来越多的外国人到中国经商和旅游，英语被使用的越来越广泛。英语标识语和提示语在人们的糊口当中越来越重要了，但目前我国有良多标识语和提示话使用不规范，好比：有些旅游场所标有'No visitors'(游客止步)，良多商店标有'Business time' (营业时间)，甚至首都机场有些标识语也不规范，如：'Claim luggage' (取行李)。这些都会给外国朋友造成一定的交际和沟通方面的障碍。
2001年，我去英国学习，留意到了英国的一些标识语和提示语，并把它们记实下来。现在我把它们收拾整顿分类，配有中文翻译。这些都是原汁原味的英语标识语和提示语，大部门我们可以直接运用，有些则可以根据我国的实际情况变通一下再用。可以说你使用这些地隧道道的英语标识语和提示语，老外看了，也会觉得我们不是'老外'了。
下面是本人收集的部门标识语和提示语。
I． Road and Traffic 公路和交通
Approaching end of motorway 即将驶出高速。
